As South Africa overcame Afghanistan to go to the T20 World Cup final, Kagiso Rabada gave Dwayne Bravo a souvenir shirt. Rabada was among the Proteas’ best bowlers during the semi-final match. In the first inning, Afghanistan was bowled out for 56 runs by the bowler, who claimed two scalps. Bravo, who assisted the Afghan team as a bowling consultant at this T20 World Cup, received an autographed South Africa jersey from Rabada after the low-scoring game’s nine-wicket triumph. The ICC posted the footage of the lovely event on Instagram after capturing it on camera.
After Trinidad and Tobago’s one-sided semifinal match was over, Kagiso Rabada faced Dwayne Bravo. With his match shirt on, the South African sprinter signed the back as he emerged from the tunnel. Bravo took it from him and used it to take a photo of herself wearing the souvenir shirt. After that, the legendary player from the Caribbean gave Rabada a hug and good luck in the championship.
Afghanistan’s impressive bowling performance in this T20 World Cup is mostly due to Dwayne Bravo. The Asian team, which advanced to the semi-final of an ICC competition for the first time ever, had a historic season. The primary weapon of the Rashid Khan-led team was bowling.
Australia was guarded by Afghanistan with 148 runs in the last Super Eight match. Bangladesh was dismissed for 105 runs by the Afghan brigade in the following match, a match that they had to win. They were unable to duplicate their performance against South Africa in the semifinals, however, as the team has yet to lose in the competition.
In the Tarouba knockout match, Afghanistan chose to bat first and was met with a batting collapse. The only hitter from the Afghan brigade to score in double figures was Azmatullah Omarzai. Leading the South African pacer assault, Marco Jansen was dismissed after taking three wickets. On the slow surface, spinner Tabraiz Shamsi also showed off his abilities by taking three wickets. In addition to Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje further claimed two scalps.
During the pursuit, South Africa was not particularly concerned. Quinton de Kock was removed by Fazalhaq Farooqi in the second over, but Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram held on to their perfect scores and managed to chase down the meager goal in 8.5 overs. On June 29, South Africa will play either India or England in the T20 World Cup final.
