Team India: The semi-finals and finals are now to be played in the T20 World Cup 2024 being hosted by West Indies and USA. The final match of the T20 World Cup will be played on 29 June at the ground in Barbados.

In the midst of the T20 World Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a big announcement. Because, despite poor captaincy in IPL 2024, the BCCI has been kind to a player and that player has been made the new captain of Team India.

Let us tell you that Team India has to tour Zimbabwe after the T20 World Cup 2024. For which Team India's squad has been announced. The captaincy of Team India for the 5-match T20 series to be played against Zimbabwe has been handed over to young batsman Shubman Gill.

Due to which some fans are now raising questions on this decision of BCCI. Gill has absolutely no experience of captaining the Indian team. Due to which Team India may have to face defeat on the Zimbabwe tour.

Gill was a flop as captain in IPL

Let us tell you that in IPL 2024, Gujarat team captain Hardik Pandya was included in the Mumbai Indians team. Due to which the Gujarat Titans team was captained by young batsman Shubman Gill in IPL 2024.

Under Gill's captaincy, the Gujarat Titans team could not make it to the playoffs.

Earlier, Gujarat had played the finals twice and in IPL 2022, the team became champion in the very first season. But under Gill's captaincy, Gujarat was able to win only 5 matches and finished 8th on the points table.

Got captaincy at the age of just 24

Let us tell you that Shubman Gill has not been given a chance in the 15-member team in the T20 World Cup 2024 and he has been included as a reserve player. However, Gill has now got the captaincy of Team India at the age of just 24.

Gill has played all three formats for Team India so far. Gill has played 25 Tests, 44 ODIs and 14 T20 matches so far.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill has played 103 matches in IPL so far.
