Travid Head overtakes Suryakumar Yadav to be top-ranked T20I batter

New Delhi: Dashing Australia opener Travis Head went past Suryakumar Yadav to become the tiop-ranked batter in T20Is, as per the latest International Cricket Council rankings.
  The left hander's impressive form in the T20 World Cup, including a 43-ball 76 against India, lifted him to the number one spot, dislodging Yadav who was at the top since December 2023. Head has scored 255 runs with two half centuries in the ongoing tournament though it couln't guide Australia to the semi-finals. He is now two points ahead of second-placed Yadav (842 points) but the Indian middle-order batter could reclaim the top slot as India's is scheduled to play England in the semis on Thursday. Head jumped four places with Yadav, England's Phil Salt and the Pakistan duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan all dropped a place each to remain among the top five batters.
  West Indies' Johnson Charles moved up by four spots to be the only new batter to enter the top 10 while Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz is positioned a place lower. In the bowling list, England's Adil Rashid retains the top spot with Afghanistan captain but Rashid Khan jumping up to second while Aussie pacer Josh Hazlewood soared three places into fourth, behind Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga. India's ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah came up to 24th spot, taking a leap of 44 places while chinaman Kuldeep Yadav moved to 11th, trading 20 places. At eighth, Axar Patel remains the highest ranked bowler among Indians.
Australia's Marcus Stoinis slipped to fourth in the all-rounders' list, with Hasaranga reclaiming the top spot. Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan occupies the second spot ahead of Hardik Pandya even as Roston Chase of West Indies beacme the biggest mover up 17 places to 12th.
