T20 World Cup 2024, India reached semi-finals : Team India has defeated Australia by 24 runs in its last Super-8 match. With this victory, Team India has made it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. The team has reached the top-4 of this tournament for the 5th time. In the semi-finals, India will face defending champion England on June 27 at 8 pm at Guyana ground.

On Monday, Australia won the toss and decided to bowl in St. Lucia, West Indies. Indian captain Rohit Sharma played an innings of 92 runs in 41 balls. He batted at a strike rate of 224 with the help of 7 fours and 8 sixes. At one time his strike rate had reached 300. Rohit missed out on scoring the fastest century in the T20 World Cup, although he scored the fastest half-century.

Apart from Rohit, Surya Kumar (31), Shivam Dubey (28) and Hardik Pandya (27) took the team's score to 205. The team scored 200+ for the first time in this T20 World Cup. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood gave only 14 runs in 4 overs and took one wicket. Apart from Hazlewood, every bowler gave more than 10 runs in his over.

Chasing the runs, Australia scored 128 runs for the loss of two wickets in 13 overs. After this, the Indian bowlers made a strong comeback in the last 7 overs and restricted the Kangaroo team to a score of 181/7 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh took the wickets of Tim David, Matthew Wade and David Warner, while Kuldeep Yadav sent Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh to the pavilion. Bumrah turned the match in India's favor by taking the wicket of Travis Head (76 runs). Head played an innings of 76 runs in 43 balls.
