Pacer Arshdeep Singh set the record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a single edition of the T20 World Cup during a Super Eight match against Australia in St. Lucia on Monday.
Arshdeep overtook RP Singh’s 2007 World Cup tally of 12 wickets and now has 14 wickets in six innings in this edition. The left-arm pacer picked the wicket of David Warner to achieve the feat, and then also accounted for Matthew Wade.
Arshdeep made his T20 World Cup debut during the 2022 edition with a three-wicket haul against Pakistan in Melbourne. He picked 10 wickets in six matches in that tournament. In the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup, Arshdeep is India’s leading wicket-taker and made headlines with figures of 4/9 against the United States of America in New York.
