Rohit Sharma has done something in the T20 World Cup match against Australia which has surprised the world. The Indian captain thrashed Australia's fast bowler Mitchell Starc on the pitch of St. Lucia. Rohit not only thrashed Starc but also scored a half-century in just 19 balls which is a world record. Rohit Sharma scored his half-century in the powerplay itself against Australia. He is the first captain in the world to do this feat.
Rohit Sharma completed his half-century in 18 balls and when he completed his 50 runs, the score of Team India was 52 runs. This means that the contribution of other batsmen was only 2 runs. Rohit is the first captain to score a half-century in the powerplay. By the way, in the 2021 T20 World Cup, KL Rahul has achieved the feat of scoring a half-century in the powerplay.

Rohit Sharma was out to left arm pacers in 3 of the last 4 innings in this tournament but against Australia, he thrashed a left arm pacer the most. Rohit scored 29 runs in Starc's second over. Rohit hit 2 sixes on his first two balls. After this, he hit a four on the third ball and a six on the fourth ball. He again hit a six on Starc's last ball. Starc has been thrashed so much for the first time in his entire T20 career.
The special thing about Rohit Sharma's innings was that he started hitting immediately after Virat Kohli's wicket fell. He thrashed Starc as well as Adam Zampa, Marcus Stoinis. Rohit was not able to play any good innings after the Pakistan match but he silenced everyone by batting brilliantly against Australia.
