India squad for Zimbabwe T20Is: Shubman Gill looks all set to captain the Indian cricket team if Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav opt to sit out of the five-match series which starts from July 6 in Harare.
  As per a report in The Indian Express, BCCI's senior selection committee want Hardik and Suryakumar to take some rest after the end of India's campaign in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 which will conclude on June 29. Most of the players part of the India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 are likely to be rested as they have been playing non-stop cricket since the start of the year. However, the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson are likely to feature in the squad. The two players have warmed the bench so far in the ongoing ICC showpiece event. Rinku, who is travelling with Team India as a reserve player, is also almost certain to find a place. Khaleel Ahmed is also a travelling reserve with the Indian team in West Indies. Two other travelling reserves Gill and Avesh Khan returned to India after the group stage of the tournament. India Squad vs Zimbabwe: IPL stars set to get debut opportunity in blue The India squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe will also feature several IPL stars. The likes of Abhishek Sharma (SRH), Riyan Parag (RR), Nitish Reddy (SRH), and Harshit Rana (KKR) will be getting their maiden India call-up as per the reports. CSK pacer Tushar Deshpande is also in the fray. Sai Sudharsan, Tilak Varma, T Natarajan and Varun Chakravarthy could also be in contention. As per The Indian Express, the BCCI has already piked a provisional 20-member squad but are waiting to hear back from Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. VVS Laxman to be India coach in Zimbabwe With the appointment of Indian cricket team's next coach yet to be made, NCA head and former India batter VVS Laxman is set to travel with the Indian team as the coach. The new coach is expected to take charge from India's tour of Sri Lanka later in July.
