South Africa defeated the West Indies by 3 wickets to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Chasing 123 in 17 overs due to rain intervention, the Aiden Markram-led team almost gifted this important game to the Windies but Marco Jansen’s 21 runs off 14 balls won the contest for the Proteas.Roston Chase (3 wickets), Andre Russell (2 wickets) and Alzarri Joseph (2 wickets) bowled well for the co-hosts.
Earlier, West Indies posted 135/8, with Chase hitting a fifty. For South Indian, Tabraiz Shamsi dismissed three batters.
