Indian women defeated South Africa by 6 wickets in the third match of the three-match ODI series with the help of Smriti Mandhana's half-century. With this, India clean swept South Africa 3-0 in the series. In the third ODI match played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first.
South Africa batted first and scored 215 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Laura Wolvaardt scored the most runs for the team. She scored a half-century of 61 runs with the help of 7 fours in 57 balls. Tazmin Brits scored 38 runs with the help of 2 fours and a six in 66 balls. Wolvaardt and Brits made a century partnership of 102 (119) runs for the first wicket. Mieke de Ridder and Nadine de Klerk contributed 26 (31) * and 26 (46) runs respectively. Arundhati Reddy and Deepti Sharma took 2-2 wickets each. Pooja Vastrakar and Shreyanka Patil managed to take one wicket each.
Chasing the target, India won the match by scoring 220 runs in 40.4 overs losing 4 wickets.
Mandhana scored the most runs from the team. She scored a half-century of 90 runs with the help of 11 fours in 83 balls. She missed her third consecutive century by 10 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 42 runs with the help of 2 fours in 48 balls.Priya Punia contributed 28 runs with the help of 3 fours and a six in 40 balls and Shefali Verma contributed 25 runs with the help of 4 fours in 39 balls.
Mandhana and Shefali shared a 61 (71) run partnership for the first wicket. Mandhana then added 62 (66) runs for the second wicket with Priya.
