Following a defeat against Afghanistan, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh warned Team India ahead of their final clash in the Super 8 at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The loss against Afghanistan has put Australia under pressure. Australia will now visit the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia to face the Men in Blue in a must-win game. Marsh spoke about the need to win against India.
“We need to win and there is no better team than India to do it against. Credit goes to Afghanistan for outplaying us,” Marsh said in the post-match presentation.
Things didn’t fall in place for the 2021 champions as they dropped catches and a couple of midfields led to boundaries.
“We allowed them to score 20 too many. They played competitive cricket and we were outplayed,” Marsh added.
Marsh won the toss and invited Afghanistan to bat first. Rashid Khan admitted that they wanted to bat.
“A lot of teams have bowled first to know about the surface. We didn’t lost at the toss. We didn’t field well but we will be back in the next game. It was a tough wicket to bat on,” he concluded.
