Team India is currently putting in all its effort to win the T20 World Cup 2024 and looking at its performance so far, it also looks like the strongest team in the tournament. After a good start in the group stage, the Indian team also won the first match of the Super-8. In such a situation, there is hope that the wait of the last 11 years will end this time and along with it the painful memories of November 19 will also end, when Team India lost in the final of the World Cup 2023. But before these hopes of the fans are fulfilled, once again the wound of November 19 became fresh and the reason was the India-Bangladesh match in the Super-8.
Team India and Bangladesh were face to face on Saturday 22 June in Antigua. This was the second match of both the teams in Super-8. In this match, the Indian team batted first and the opening pair of Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli, which has been failing in this World Cup so far, looked better this time. Both of them started raining boundaries from the first over itself. Both of them added 29 runs in 3 overs. It was here that something happened that 7 month old memories were refreshed.
The fourth over of Team India's innings had started and Bangladesh's legendary spinner Shakib Al Hasan came to bowl. Rohit Sharma started this over with a great six. Then Rohit got a four on the third ball as well and thus 10 runs were scored in 3 balls. Then on the fourth ball, Rohit tried to hit another big shot but this time he could not time the shot properly and the mid-off fielder took a great catch while running backwards. Rohit gave a good start to the team by playing a quick innings of 23 runs in just 11 balls.

Rohit's innings was good but it refreshed the pain of the fans. The pain of the India-Australia final on November 19, where Team India had to face defeat. In that final played in Ahmedabad, Team India had batted first and even then captain Rohit Sharma had given an explosive start. Then in the 9th over, Rohit hit a six and a four against spinner Glenn Maxwell. But on the very next ball, he again mistimed the attempt to play a big shot and Travis Head took a sensational catch. What happened after that is something no Indian fan will be able to forget. This is what the fans remembered in Antigua too.
