The Indian team had a great start in the T20 World Cup. It topped the group stage in New York by winning 3 matches and now this team is playing Super-8 matches in West Indies. In its first match, the team performed brilliantly under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
With Suryakumar Yadav's explosive batting and Jaspreet Bumrah's sharp bowling, India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs. Now the Indian team will face Bangladesh in Antigua on June 22. Meanwhile, there are reports that Rohit Sharma and other players of the team are not happy with the ICC. Because of that, Team India is facing a lot of problems. ICC has put Team India in trouble in the pursuit of earning money. In the T20 World Cup 2024, the ICC has taken some such decisions, due to which Team India is stuck. The team is in a lot of trouble because of the ICC.
The ICC has kept all the matches of the Indian team in the Super-8 at different venues. The problem in this is that there is only a gap of one day in each of them. India played its first match in Barbados on June 20, while on June 22 it has to play in Antigua and then on June 24 it has to face Australia in St. Lucia. Due to this the team is not getting a chance to rest and practice. The biggest reason behind this is the broadcasters. The ICC has taken this decision on the request of the broadcasters keeping in mind the viewership in order to earn money from them. Although Rohit Sharma has not made any official complaint about this, but the sports journalists present in the West Indies have brought this to the fore quoting the Indian team.
ICC has not only troubled Team India with its decision, but has also put it in danger of being out of the tournament in the pursuit of earning money. In fact, ICC has already decided the date and venue of the semi-finals for India. If India reaches the semi-finals, then it will have to play the second semi-final match in Guyana on 27 June, while the final is on 29 June.
This will give India only a gap of one day. The surprising thing in this is that there is a reserve day for the first semi-final, but ICC has not kept any reserve day for the second semi-final i.e. the match with India. This has put pressure on India to win all three matches in the Super-8. There is a possibility of rain in the second semi-final. If the Indian team reaches this far and the match gets cancelled due to rain, then the team that is on top in its group will reach the final without playing. That is, if Team India is not on top in the Super-8, then in case the semi-final match gets cancelled due to rain, it will have to be eliminated without playing.
