In this match against the Afghan team, Yadav faced 28 balls and scored 53 runs with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. The result of his fast innings was that Team India scored a respectable score of 181 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Apart from him, all the batsmen were seen struggling but Surya played a good innings. Seeing Suryakumar's batting, Kumble has made a big statement during a conversation on a show of ESPN Cricinfo.
He said, “With Suryakumar Yadav, India gets more stroke power, which you need from such a batsman at number four. If Surya is in such form, he puts pressure on the opposition bowlers and it is not easy to control them. It is not easy to bowl against him and wherever you bowl, the field is such that it becomes difficult for you to stop him from hitting boundaries. This is definitely a good sign for India because he has returned to good form since the first match of Super-8.”
Let us tell you that even before this, the 33-year-old played a brilliant innings on the difficult pitch of New York against co-hosts USA and led India to victory in the match. In this match against Afghanistan, the Men in Blue won by 47 runs and started the Super-8 in a great way. Now they have to play their next match against Bangladesh on June 22 and if they win this match, then their reaching the semi-finals will be almost certain.
