Suryakumar Yadav is pleasant, when it comes to interviews and press conferences. When batting in the middle, he is lethal against all bowlers, but when he interacts with opponents, broadcasters, journalists, and even fans, he is the complete opposite.

Known for always having a broad smile on his face, Suryakumar caused a chuckle storm with his hilarious reaction when he was misidentified as Mohammed Siraj at a T20 World Cup news conference.

In the India vs. Afghanistan pre-match press conference, a journalist mistakes Surya as Siraj. The Indian batter received it with grace and responded in a humorous way. “Siraj aye nahi …. Khana khaa rahe hain (Hey, Siraj isn’t here He’s eating),” Surya said with a smile.

Suryakumar Yadav put up a decisive performance in India’s T20 World Cup Super Eight opener against Afghanistan in Barbados. Prior to the game, he had emphasized the importance of winning the middle-overs battle in T20Is, and he delivered on that promise by outplaying Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed.

Surya’s crucial 28-ball 53 included three sixes and five fours, while vice-captain Hardik Pandya contributed a brisk 24-ball 32 as India posted a challenging total of 181/7 on a difficult pitch. Virat Kohli (24) and Rishabh Pant (20) also provided valuable top-order support.

Jasprit Bumrah delivered a superb performance, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs, as Afghanistan were bowled out for 134 in response. Arshdeep Singh also claimed 3 wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav contributed 2 scalps.
