In a joint announcement, Cricket South Africa and the BCCI revealed that the India will tour South Africa for a brief four-match T20I series in November 2024. This will mark the second consecutive year that the Men in Blue would visit South Africa, having played all three formats in 2023-2024.

The first match will be held at Kingsmead in Durban on November 8. The teams will then travel to Gqeberha for the second match on November 10, before concluding the series in the Highveld region, with games in Centurion on November 13 and Johannesburg on November 15. The T20I leg of last year’s tour ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Durban game being washed out by rain.

India’s quick series will fall between their home Test series against New Zealand and their tour of Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“I extend my sincere gratitude to the BCCI for their steadfast support of South African cricket, as well as their contributions to the sport globally,” remarked CSA Chairperson Lawson Naidoo.

“The Indian cricket team’s tours to our country always captivate audiences with their spirited camaraderie and thrilling matches. Our fans eagerly anticipate this upcoming series, which will showcase the exceptional talents of both teams,” he continued.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah also stated, “India and South Africa share a longstanding, deep-rooted bond that both nations take immense pride in. The Indian cricket team has consistently enjoyed immense appreciation and adoration from South African fans, a sentiment equally strong among Indian supporters of the South African side. The upcoming series is poised to showcase the cricketing excellence of both teams, delivering enthralling, high-intensity contests.”
