The second round of T20 World Cup 2024 i.e. Super-8 matches have started. West Indies has played one of its matches in this round against England on 20 June. In this match, England defeated it by 8 wickets with 15 balls to spare. During this, it not only had to face defeat, but also suffered another big loss. The important player of the team, Brandon King, was badly injured and he had to leave the field leaving the game midway. Update on Brandon King's injury

West Indies opener Brandon King was playing a blistering innings against England. He was batting at 23 runs in 13 balls when he got injured while trying to play a big shot. He hit a huge 101 meter six off Reece Topley's ball. In the next over, King tried to hit a boundary off Sam Curran's ball when he went ahead and suffered a side strain injury and lay down on the pitch. The injury was so severe that he had to go out.

Now a big update has come regarding his injury. The board has informed that King went to Barbados with the medical team, where his MRI scan was done. However, its result has not come out yet. Now the board has prayed that King recovers as soon as possible and joins the team for the Super-8 match.

West Indies in danger of being eliminated

In Super-8, every team will play three matches in its group. The top-2 teams of both the groups will go to the semi-finals. After losing one match to England, West Indies is now facing the threat of being eliminated from the tournament. West Indies' next match is against America on 22 June. The third and last match will be against dangerous looking South Africa on 24 June. If West Indies loses even one of these matches, it will be eliminated from the tournament.

The main reason for this is that South Africa will reach 4 points as soon as it defeats West Indies. England will also have a chance to reach 4 points by defeating America, while West Indies will be limited to 2 points at most. Due to this, the West Indies team will be out of the tournament. In such a situation, West Indies would want all its players to remain fit and take part in the next two matches and make the team win.
