In order to counter Afghanistan’s explosive batting lineup, the Men in Blue want to attack with a lot of spin, maybe playing four spinners in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The T20 World Cup 2024 lineup for India includes Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja as its four spinners.
On June 20, the Men in Blue must meet Afghanistan in their first Super Eight match.
All four of the spinners—Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal—practiced on Tuesday and pitched against Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav in a net session to aid in their practice.
But in Barbados, the practice session was cut short by a brief downpour.
Rohit Sharma said in a video posted on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) social media account earlier in the day that his players are eager to perform exceptionally well in the competition.
“The crew is very excited to go and do something amazing.
It is evident that everyone is motivated to change the world and that we take our skill sessions extremely seriously. Every skill session you undertake has a goal for you to accomplish. We will play the following two games in three to four days after we finish the first one. Although a bit chaotic, we’re accustomed to this kind of thing. That won’t be an excuse since we travel and play a lot,” Rohit said in a BCCI video. In order to make it to the semifinals and break their streak of not winning an ICC trophy since the Champions Trophy in 2013, India will be looking to perform well against Afghanistan (June 20), Bangladesh (June 22), and Australia (June 24).
They also hope to win their first T20 World Cup since the 2007 tournament in South Africa.During the main event’s group stage, the Men in Blue had an incredible performance and emerged victorious in Group A with seven points.
