Bangladeshi seamer Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who violated the rule of conduct during Bangladesh’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Group D encounter against Nepal, has been fined fifteen percent of his match fee.
Tanzim’s disciplinary record now includes one demerit point in addition to the fine; this was his first offense in a 24-month period.
“Inappropriate physical contact with a player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee, or any other person (including a spectator during an international match)” is the subject of Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which Tanzim was found to have violated, the ICC said in a statement.
After delivering a ball, Tanzim approached aggressively and made improper physical contact with Nepal captain Rohit Paudel at the conclusion of the third over of the team’s innings.
On-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Sam Nogajski, together with third umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena, all leveled the accusations.
It was also said that Tanzim did not need a formal hearing as he acknowledged the offense and accepted the punishment suggested by Richie Richardson of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.
