BCCI: There is still uncertainty about the next head coach of the Indian cricket team. Since the time of IPL 2024, there have been discussions that Gautam Gambhir is sure to be appointed to this post. However, there is not complete truth in these reports. In fact, BCCI interviewed another veteran besides Gambhir yesterday.
This former Indian cricketer has coached Team India before. Also, he has a lot of experience. In such a situation, it seems difficult for Gauti to become the head coach.
BCCI currently has two options for the head coach of the Indian team. Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir's name is at the forefront. However, the other person apart from him is WV Raman. This veteran born in Tamil Nadu has played 11 Tests and 27 ODIs for India.
The left-handed batsman has also played 132 first-class matches, in which he has scored nearly 8 thousand runs. While Gambhir has only been the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders, Voorkeri Raman has a lot of coaching experience. Apart from coaching Tamil Nadu and Bengal in domestic cricket, he has also guided Punjab Kings and KKR in the IPL.
WV Raman has also served in the Indian team. In fact, he guided the Indian women's cricket team from 2018 to 2021. After Ramesh Powar, this big responsibility was handed over to Raman.
He stood up to this decision of BCCI. During the 2020 T20 World Cup, WV Raman led this team to the finals.Rahul Dravid is going to be discharged from the Indian team after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. BCCI is now looking for a new head coach. On June 18, two applicants Gautam Gambhir and Voorkeri Raman were interviewed for this. During this, they were asked three questions.
The first question was, “What do you think about the coaching staff of any team?”, The second question was, “How will you coordinate with the older players in the batting and bowling departments?”, The third question was, “What is the reason for India not winning ICC tournaments?”,
