Batting first in this match, South Africa scored 194 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The US team was not successful in chasing this target and the team scored 176 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs and the African team won the match by 18 runs. The second match of T20 World Cup Super-8 was played between England and West Indies on 20 June at Darren Sammy International Cricket Ground, St. Lucia. Batting first in this match, the Caribbean team scored 180 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Chasing the target of 181 runs, England's team won the match in just 17.3 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. With this victory, England's team has also strengthened its hold in the race for the semi-finals.
West Indies team out of T20 World Cup semi-finals
The West Indies team has suffered a crushing defeat in the second match of the T20 World Cup Super-8 and due to this defeat, the Caribbean team is now in danger of being eliminated.
The Windies team still has to play matches against South Africa and USA and if the team loses one of these matches, then the doors to the semi-finals will be closed for the Caribbean team.
