Iyer will return in the ODI series against Sri Lanka

According to news agency PTI, Indian team's dashing middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer may return to the team in the three-match ODI series to be played against Sri Lanka in July and August.

Shreyas Iyer has been out of the Indian team for a long time. He was last seen playing the first match of the ODI series on the South Africa tour. This match was played on 17 December 2023. Iyer has been out of the ODI team since this match.

Iyer has not been able to return to the Indian ODI team since the Africa tour. Shreyas Iyer was last seen playing in the second match of the five-match Test series against England.

After this match, Iyer was not seen playing in any format for India. In fact, Shreyas Iyer was also dropped from the central contract by the Board of Control for Cricket in India some time ago. The reason for Iyer's exclusion from the contract was said to be not playing in the Ranji Trophy. However, Iyer kept saying that he had a back problem.
