No Bangladesh batsman could even score 20 runs, faced a tough situation against Nepal, saved the honour by falling down

Bangladesh and Nepal (BAN vs NEP) clashed in the 37th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Both the teams faced each other on the morning of 17 June as per Indian time. After winning the toss, Nepal captain Rohit Poudel invited Bangladesh to bat first, after which the team could only set a target of 107 runs. In response, Nepal's innings was reduced to 85 runs. The Bangladesh team won the BAN vs NEP match held at Ornos Vale Ground in St. Vincent by 21 runs.

BAN vs NEP: Bangladesh team flopped in batting

  • After winning the toss, Nepal (BAN vs NEP) captain Rohit Paudel invited them to bat first, after which the team's performance was disappointing.
    No batsman could even touch the 20-run mark.
  • Former captain Shakib Al Hasan scored the highest 17 runs. Mahmudullah and Rishad Hussain returned to the pavilion after scoring 13-13 runs. Zaker Ali and Taskin Ahmed played innings of 12-12 runs.
  • Liton Kumar Das scored 4 runs, Mohammad Tauhid Hridoy scored 9 runs and Tanjim Hasan Sakib scored 3 runs. Opener Tanzid Hasan could not even open his account.
  • For Nepal, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, Rohit Paudel and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each.
    Kushal Bhurtel and Abinash Bohra did not get any success.

Nepal team was all out on 85 runs

  • Nepal team (BAN vs NEP) came out to chase the given target and their innings was reduced to 85 runs. Five batsmen were out without scoring any runs. Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airy played a fighting innings and tried to make the team win.
  • However, he too could contribute only 27 runs and 25 runs respectively. Asif Sheikh played an innings of 17 runs. Kushal Bhurtel managed to score just four runs. Rohit Paudel and Sandeep Jora scored 1-1 runs.
  • Anil Shah, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane and Abinash Bohra could not even open their account.
    Bangladesh won the match due to the lethal bowling of Tanjim Hasan Sakib.
  • He took four wickets in four overs while conceding seven runs. During this his economy rate was 1.75. Apart from him Mustafizur Rahman took three wickets.
  • Taskin Ahmed took one wicket and Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets. With this, Bangladesh won the match by 21 runs and confirmed its place in the Super-8.
