UEFA Euro Cup 2024 has started on 15 June. On its first day, 3 matches were played. On the second day, Sunday 16 June, before the match between Poland and Netherlands, a big ruckus broke out. Hamburg police shot a man. That man had attacked the fans of Netherlands with an axe. After this, he was also threatening the police with an incendiary device and an axe. The police first tried to control him with pepper spray, but it did not work. After this, the police opened fire on him, due to which the attacker got injured. He is currently being treated.

What is the whole matter?

Poland and Netherlands are in Group D of Euro Cup. Their first match was to be played on Sunday, June 16 at 6.30 pm. Before the match, around 12.30 pm, around 40 thousand fans of Netherlands took out an Orange March. During this march, suddenly a man reached among the fans with an axe. First he threatened some people, then attacked them. Lakhs of fans of both the teams were present in the city for the match, so heavy police force was deployed in the city of Hamburg from security point of view. Police took immediate action on the incident and tried to control the attacker with a pepper spray. When he tried to do the same thing with the police too, he was shot.

Netherlands heavy on Poland

Poland is going to play in the Euro Cup for the fifth consecutive time but the Netherlands team has always been a headache for it. Poland has not been able to win a single match in the last 12 matches against the Netherlands. Let us tell you that Poland has not been able to win this trophy even once till now, whereas the Netherlands team won this tournament in 1988.
