Delhi: A three-match ODI series is being played between the Indian women's cricket team and South Africa women's team in India, the first match of which is being played today at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In this match, Team India won the toss and decided to bat first, after which Indian team's opening batsman Smriti Mandhana gave a historic performance.
Batting first, the team in blue jersey had a bad start, but Mandhana took the team's innings forward with her batting. Meanwhile, Smriti also achieved a big achievement in international cricket.
Smriti Mandhana has crossed the 7000 run mark in international cricket. The left-handed opener has become the second Indian woman player to achieve this feat. Earlier, Mithali Raj had achieved this feat in international cricket.

Mandhana scored 117 runs in 127 balls, which included 12 fours and 1 six. She batted at a strike rate of around 93. She is also the first and only batsman to hit a six in today's match.
India's women's team scored 265 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Apart from Mandhana, Deepti Sharma (37) and Pooja Vastrakar (31*) also made important contributions for their team. For South Africa, Ayabonga Khaka took the maximum of 3 wickets. Apart from her, Masabata Klaas took 2, Anneri Durken, Nokululeko Mlaba and Nondumiso Shengase took 1 wicket each.
Now South Africa needs 266 runs in the stipulated overs to win this match. Till the time of writing this news, the visiting team had lost 2 wickets within 21 runs in 5.2 overs. They still need 245 runs to win this match.
