The 9th edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 is being played in the US under the supervision of the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the conditions there, Asian teams are facing a tough time scoring runs. The Indian team has made it to the Super-8. But, the Pakistan cricket team got caught in the trap of the pitches of New York and Florida. The Pak batsmen failed completely on the drop-in pitch. At the same time, after being out of the Super-8, the former Pak player blamed the ICC for the defeat instead of highlighting the shortcomings of his team.
"Pakistan cricket team cannot be blamed for the defeat. The conditions in USA were not according to the Pak team. Due to which they lost. It is not that the players did not perform well. The difficult conditions of the pitch made them helpless"
Pakistan's bowlers bowled well. They bowled out a huge team like India for 119 runs. But, the Pakistan team could not achieve the score they should have. The pitch was difficult and batsmen like Virat Kohli were not able to score runs.
Rashid Latif defended his team and said,“The conditions in the US were not under their control. It seemed that scoring runs was difficult. ICC is responsible for Pakistan cricket team not reaching the Super-8.”
The conditions for batting in America and West Indies have been found to be similar. The condition of batsmen in Caribbean countries is also the same. If we see, the batsmen have not scored more than fifty runs. Rashid said on his arrival,
“Individual half-centuries are not very many. No team has scored a half-century against a team like Afghanistan. If a batsman scores a half-century then the team mostly wins. Rishabh Pant scored 42 runs,”
