There were reports that Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have turned against each other after the young opening batter was sent back to India from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Gill and Avesh Khan were told to return home before the Super 8 stage of the tournament. The two were part of the reserve players along with Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed, but the management decided to keep Ahmed and Rinku in the second round.

Shubman has finally broken silence on his alleged rift with the Indian captain. According to stories, Gill was looking after his commercial interests in the United States of America instead of giving time to the Indian team. He was absent from the IND vs PAK match, with Rinku, Avesh and Khaleel making their presence felt from the stands.

The stories of disciplinary action against Gill in the form of the marching order and the batter unfollowing Rohit on Instagram shocked everyone.

And now the captain of Gujarat Titans has refuted all the claims by positing a picture with Rohit. In the pic, Rohit, his daughter Samaira and Gill are seen in a relaxed mood.

“Sammy and I learning the art of discipline from Rohit Sharma,” he wrote as a caption.

Meanwhile, the BCCI also issued a clarification saying that Gill and Avesh were found to be surplus as the team has enough players to replace someone in case of an injury, and that’s why the two were told to return.
