Pakistan Cricket: The performance of the Pakistan team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was very disappointing. There will be a cut in salary

It is being told that the Pakistan Cricket Board is not at all happy with the performance of its team and it may soon review the central contract and cut the salaries of the players. Talking to news agency PTI, a reliable source of the board said that some officials and former players have advised PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to review the central contract. The source said,

“If the PCB chairman takes a tough stand on the team's poor performance then the players' central contracts may be reviewed and their salaries may be reduced.”

There are three factions in the Pakistani team

Earlier, another source associated with the Pakistani team, while talking to PTI, made a big revelation that 3 factions have been formed in the team. The entire camp is divided into 3 parts behind Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwad and Shaheen Afridi. Apart from this, the return of senior players like Mohammad Aamir and Imad Wasim has further worsened the atmosphere of the team. The source said

“The return of Imad and Aamir added to the confusion in the team. Both of them had not played top level domestic or international cricket for a long time, except in franchise-based leagues.”

“There were also instances where some of the players were not talking to each other and some of them even tried to please the players leading the three camps of the team.”

PCB chairman has full information

It is worth noting that the news of rift in the Pakistani team was coming out for a long time. It is being told that before the T20 World Cup 2024, national selector Wahab Riaz had informed PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi about the problems of the team. After this, Naqvi held two one-on-one meetings with all the players and asked them to focus on winning the World Cup instead of personal interests. He also promised that after the World Cup he would clear all the misunderstandings in the team. However, things did not work out.
