South Africa vs Nepal : A major upset was averted in the 31st match of the T20 World Cup 2024. South Africa defeated Nepal by just one run on the last ball. In the match played in Kingstown, South Africa's team, batting first, could score only 115 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Nepal's team could score only 114 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. If Nepal had won, it would have been one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history.

Nepal captain Rohit Paudel won the toss and decided to bowl which proved to be absolutely correct. The team did not have a good start and the first wicket fell at just 22 runs. Quinton de Kock returned to the pavilion after scoring just 10 runs. After this, captain Aiden Markram also got out after scoring 15 runs off 22 balls. Opener Reeza Hendricks definitely stood at one end. He played an innings of 43 runs off 49 balls but he did not get support from the other batsmen. Batsmen like Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller also flopped. In the lower order, Tristan Stubbs somehow took the team to a score of 115 by scoring 27 runs off 18 balls. Kushal Bhartel took 4 wickets for just 19 runs from Nepal. At the same time, Dipendra Singh also took 3 wickets for 21 runs.

Nepal lost on the last ball

Nepal's openers gave a good start to the team by sharing 35 runs for the first wicket while chasing the target. However, two wickets fell at this score.
