BCCI recently started the process of applying for the post of head coach before the start of T20 World Cup 2024, but despite that, till now the name of any veteran player has not been officially decided for the post of head coach.

Meanwhile, reports are coming out in the media that the veteran who will take over the responsibility of head coach during Team India's Zimbabwe tour has scored 64 centuries in his professional cricketing career.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah is soon going to announce the name of the new head coach of Team India.

Gautam Gambhir will become the head coach of Team India

Gautam Gambhir played international cricket for Team India from 2003 to 2016. During this period, Gautam Gambhir played 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20 matches for Team India. After retiring from cricket, Gautam Gambhir first played the role of mentor for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL cricket and then for Kolkata Knight Riders.

After making Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) the IPL champion under his mentorship, Gautam Gambhir's name was considered for the next head coach of Team India and now it is almost certain that Gautam Gambhir is going to become the next head coach of Team India.

Gambhir has scored 64 centuries in his cricketing career

Gautam Gambhir played a crucial innings in the final match to make Team India the world champion in 2007 and 2011. Due to which Gautam Gambhir is still counted among the legendary players of Team India in the white ball format. Talking about Gautam Gambhir's centuries in professional cricket, he has scored 43 centuries in red ball cricket, while Gautam Gambhir has 21 centuries to his name in the white ball format.

Can take over the responsibility of head coach from Zimbabwe tour

If Gautam Gambhir becomes the next head coach of Team India, then he can start playing the responsibility of head coach for the team from the Zimbabwe tour in July.

Talking about Gautam Gambhir's tenure, BCCI will appoint him as the head coach of Team India till the year 2027. Now it has to be seen whether Team India is able to win any ICC title during Gautam Gambhir's tenure or not?
