The persistent rain in Florida ended Pakistan’s chances of making it to the Super 8 stage as the USA vs IRE match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was called off without a ball being bowled. When the rain had stopped for a while, the wet outfield didn’t allow the proceedings despite the hard work of the groundsmen.

The rain started again and the umpires had no option but to abandoned the contest. Meanwhile, the USA have qualified for the next round after getting one point from the game as they finished their group stage campaign with 5 points.

On the other hand, the Men in Green have registered two points from three matches and even if they beat Ireland in their last game, their total points would be four, meaning they can’t go past the USA.
