For the first time in the history of T20 World Cup, 20 teams are participating in the tournament and this has made the World Cup very exciting. Some new and small teams are not only surprising or troubling the big teams, but are also showing amazing performance on the fielding front. Many great catches have been seen, in which fielders of small teams, not big teams like Australia, India or South Africa, are involved.
One such catch has been taken by a player from Netherlands, which will not be surprising if it is called the best catch of this World Cup.This catch was seen in a very important match of Group D between Bangladesh and Netherlands in St. Vincent. Both the teams needed to win this match to reach the next round. In such a situation, nothing less than giving your all is acceptable. Netherlands player Sybrand Engelbrecht did something similar and stunned everyone by taking a tremendous catch.
Bangladesh batted first in this match but had a bad start when opener and captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto was out in the second over. After this, experienced batsman Liton Das also could not last long and the reason for this was Englebrecht. On the first ball of Aryan Dutt in the fourth over, Liton played a good sweep shot but the ball could not go very far. Englebrecht, stationed behind deep square leg, ran in the hope of catching the ball and just as the ball was about to fall, he took a long dive and caught the ball with his hands just inches before the field.

Liton's shot may not have been hit with full force but it was unlikely that anyone would catch it. That too if the fielder was behind deep square leg. Englebrecht made it possible and forced everyone to stand up and applaud. Most of the spectators could not believe it and the commentators were also surprised by such a brilliant fielding. Liton Das was out after scoring just 1 run.
Potentially the best catch of the time?

Englebrecht is famous for taking amazing catches. 16 years ago when Englebrecht used to play cricket in South Africa, in the Under-19 World Cup, he took such a catch at backward point against Papua New Guinea that anyone would be left stunned. In such a situation, it is not surprising if Englebrecht has taken another amazing catch.
