Walter Chawaguta has been serving as the head coach of Zimbabwe on an interim basis since the resignation of former Zimbabwe head coach Dave Houghton at the end of 2023. The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has recently released the application process for the next head coach of Zimbabwe. After which it is believed that Walter Chawaguta can take up the responsibility of the next full-time head coach of Zimbabwe.

The application for the new head coach issued by the Zimbabwe Cricket Board (ZCB) shows that the next head coach of the Zimbabwe cricket team will be appointed as the head coach before the start of the 5 T20 series against Team India in the month of July and the next head coach of the team will be seen performing his responsibilities in the T20 series of Team India.

Lalchand Rajput has also been the head coach of Zimbabwe

Lalchand Rajput, former head of the Indian team, has also served as the head coach of the Zimbabwe Cricket Team India. During his coaching tenure, the Zimbabwe Cricket Board qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Australia. In such a situation, the Zimbabwe Cricket Board can once again give Lalchand Rajput a chance to take up the responsibility of the next head coach of the Zimbabwe Cricket Team.
