According to him, the landscape of sports has evolved beyond mere participation, with success being synonymous with victory.
Ganguly was asked which player from the Indian team he led could excel in squash. He promptly responded that the legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar possesses the skills to be a good squash player, during a lively chat with squash champion Sourav Ghosal.
"I think Sachin (Tendulkar) would have excelled in racket sport because of his ball sense. He played table tennis very well," said Ganguly during the 'Sourav Calling Sourav' session at the RevSportz's Trailblazers 2.0 Conclave.
Squash champ Saurav Ghosal, on the other hand, was asked about which cricketer he could relate to or see himself in. He responded: "Rahul Dravid. From outside, he (Dravid) looks like a very methodical person, something that resonates with me," he replied.
Ghosal expanded on his knowledge of Ganguly, referencing one of the former India captain's notable achievements in 1996. Additionally, he expressed curiosity about the cricketer's early career experiences and how he stayed prepared during those formative days.
"He (Ganguly) was picked in the Indian team in 1992. Then, after a while, he came back in 1996 and scored back-to-back Test hundreds. I wanted to know how he went through that period and kept himself ready," said Ghosal.
