Delhi: On Monday, Japan announced its 15-member squad for the historic one-off T20 International match to be played against India. This historic match will be played on 22 September in Sano city of Japan.
The command of Japan has been handed over to their regular captain and highest run-scorer in T20I, Kendall Kadowaki-Fleming. This is the same team that is going to participate in the Asian Games 2026, which is being hosted by Japan this time.
This match, known as Suzuki Cup, will be held at the Sano International Cricket Ground in Tochigi Prefecture. Just before the Asian Games to be held from September 24 to October 3, this match is considered very special in terms of preparation for both the teams.
T20 World Cup champion Indian team has fielded a strong team for the Asian Games, which is captained by Shreyas Iyer. The Indian team will leave for Sano on 19th September and will take part in the practice session on the ground on 20th September.
Japan's selectors have included 12 players in this team from the list of national players announced in June, while three players from the A team – Tsuyoshi Takada, Jake Kusuda-Nairn and Alastair Kadowaki-Fleming have been included.
