The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association played a major role in attracting spectators by announcing free entry for the Duleep Trophy final.

With fans able to watch the match from inside the stadium without paying for tickets, a strong turnout followed.

The result was a lively atmosphere around a game that might otherwise have struggled to generate such a large attendance.

The images circulating online show supporters occupying large sections of the ground, creating an atmosphere more commonly associated with high-profile international fixtures or major T20 matches.

Star Names Add To Final’s Attraction

The presence of several well-known Indian cricketers also gave the contest extra appeal.

Ishan Kishan is leading East Zone, while Tilak Varma has been named captain of West Zone. The final therefore features two players already familiar to followers of Indian cricket, with plenty of attention on their leadership roles.

East Zone also boasts plenty of experience and emerging talent. Young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi is part of the side, alongside veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami and pacer Mukesh Kumar.

West Zone, meanwhile, features another strong combination. Along with skipper Tilak Varma, the lineup includes left-handed batter Devdutt Padikkal and India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj.

With so many recognizable names on the field, the final has attracted greater attention than a typical first-class contest. The combination of free admission, a historic venue and a strong roster has helped create a striking scene at Chepauk.
