Warwickshire have moved within five points of Somerset in the table after their massive win over Hampshire by an innings and 128 runs. India spinner Manav Suthar was the star performer as he claimed seven wickets for 94 runs in the game. The Bears are now second in the standings as the County season heads towards a close finish.

Suthar picked up three wickets in the first innings for 42 runs, dismissing Nick Gubbins, James Fuller, and Eddie Jack. In the second innings, the left-arm spinner grabbed four wickets for 52 runs to skittle out the hosts for just 154.

Suthar, who was part of the India side in Sri Lanka, took 10 wickets in the Galle Test. He then claimed three wickets in each innings of the Colombo Test match, to take his overall tally to 23 wickets from just three matches.

Warwickshire signed the youngster for two games earlier in the season, and he justified their trust in his abilities. Manav proved to be a great addition, taking 11 wickets in two games, with a best of 5/100 against Somerset. The player also managed to score 98 runs from three innings with a best of 37 against Yorkshire.

Eight-time County Championship winners (Warwickshire) will take on Glamorgan in an away contest which begins on 8th September. They also play away to Essex before heading back home to Birmingham for their final game of the season against Leicestershire.

Auqib Nabi starts county stint with a win

India seamer Auqib Nabi and spinner Kuldeep Yadav were on opposite sides when Surrey hosted Yorkshire in a key game. The29-year-old seamer picked up one wicket in each innings and scored nine runs, including eight in the second innings, as Surrey won the game by one wicket.

Kuldeep didn’t bowl in the game and played as a pure batter, scoring 18 runs. Rahul Chahar also had a forgettable game, bowling just two overs and scoring six runs with the bat.

Veteran spin bowler Yuzvendra Chahalplaying for Northamptonshire against Durham, took 9 wickets for 120 runs.

The 36-year-old had figures of 4/36 in the first innings and then claimed 5/84 in the second. Mayank Agarwal, who is part of the Durham side, scored 48 runs in the second innings off 85 balls with five hits to the fence.
