All 10 IPL franchises will have to reveal the names of the players they are retaining and releasing by November 17. According to reports, Hardik Pandya is moving to Punjab Kings, with Arshdeep Singh joining the five-time champions. Meanwhile, former India player Cheteshwar Pujara opined on the likely big releases ahead of the IPL 2027 auction. According to him, Cameron Green, who was bought for INR 25.20 crore by the Kolkata Knight Riders, will not be retained.
“They can get him back at the auction,” Pujara said.
Matt Henry and Matthew Short will be released by the Chennai Super Kings. He feels that Royal Challengers Bengaluru may not release any player, considering they won the IPL in the 19th season.
Pujara suggested that Hardik Pandya could leave Mumbai Indians. For the Gujarat Titans, the choice could be between Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan.
Xavier Bartlett and Lockie Ferguson were his choices for the Punjab Kings. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jaydev Unadkat and Harshal Patel could be released.
Prithvi Shaw and Karun Nair could be released by the Delhi Capitals.
Lucknow Super Giants might release their 21-crore star, Nicholas Pooran. However, if he is retained, Ayush Badoni could be released. Pujara was not sure about the players who are likely to be released by Rajasthan Royals, before adding that they could part ways with one of the Indian players.
