Mumbai: Just days after smashing a 400 not out and rewriting the record books, Chinmay Sutar has added another landmark to his extraordinary start in first-class cricket .

The 23-year-old, representing Mizoram in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group, on Wednesday broke the world record for the most runs scored after six innings in first-class cricket. His 175 against Arunachal Pradesh in Anand took his tally to 834 runs, surpassing the previous record of 831 runs set by Afghanistan’s Bashir Shah .

“I’m glad to be among the runs and making world records. I’m just implementing what I learnt during my early years in Mumbai cricket: score as many runs as you can when in good form,” Sutar told TOI.
