India captain Shreyas Iyer has won the toss for the third time in a row and decided to bowl first against New Zealand. The third T20I will start at 12:30 pm IST. The Men in Blue haven’t made any changes, meaning Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is getting another match.

Toss Decision – Captains’ comments and reasoning

“We will bowl first. It is windy over here. We need to improve in certain aspects of the game. The ways we adapted to conditions in Christchurch, we will have to do over here as well. The faster we do well, the better it is for us. We want to repeat our good performance, and it is good for the players. The players in the team are mature, and they understand why they’re sitting out. When the opportunity arises, I am sure they are ready for it,” Shreyas Iyer said.

New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner would have bowled first had he won the toss in the third game of the five-match series. He is hoping to score big.

“Losing the toss is good. The wicket looks good, and there would be pace and bounce. We would have bowled first as well. We have to make adjustments as the dimensions of the ground are different from Christchurch. India are a good side, and you can’t relax against them. We will have to play well till the end of the game to challenge the Indian side,” he said.
