The mini auction for the Indian Premier League 2027 season will be held on December 16 in Goa, according to a news report from Cricinfo.

The one-day auction coincides with the second One-Day International between India and Sri Lanka, which will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The event returns to India for the first time since 2022, with the last three auctions being held in Dubai, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi. This will also be the last mini auction of this cycle as the league is set to go into a mega auction next year.

The report added that the last date of player retention, as conveyed to the franchises, is November 15.

Teams can still proceed with trades after the retention deadline. According to the IPL guidelines, teams can start trading one month after the conclusion of a season and carry on till one week before the auction date.
