Delhi: Discussions have intensified regarding the Indian Premier League (IPL) future of former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Fans want to know whether he will be seen on the field in the 2027 season also. While giving his views on this question, Dhoni has made it clear that he will decide about his future before December this year. However, his next step will completely depend on the results of the medical examination.

Future will be decided after medical report

During a health program organized in Bengaluru, Dhoni was asked about his cricket career. On this he told that before playing in the next season, he will have to assess his physical ability. Last season, he was out of the entire tournament due to calf problem.

Dhoni said, “Doctor, I have to undergo tests first. You have to give me the report and then before December I have to see how strong I am and whether I can play another season.”

He added jokingly, “If I'm not fit to play, you have to make sure that everything is done right with me, so that this old vintage car runs well on the road, so the whole pressure is on you.”

Chennai Super Kings waiting for Dhoni's decision

Chennai Super Kings Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kasi Vishwanathan also gave his reaction on Dhoni's future. According to him, the final decision has to be taken by Dhoni himself. He usually informs the team management about his decision after reaching Chennai.

Vishwanathan had expressed hope that Dhoni can play for the team in future also. However, there has been no official confirmation of his playing in the next season yet.
