Delhi: Former Indian cricket team all-rounder Irfan Pathan has expressed his displeasure over the alleged fake news being spread on social media in his name. He clearly said that he never said anything wrong against any religion. Sharing a post on Instagram, he appealed to people not to spread any news or statement to his name without knowing the truth.

Irfan Pathan appealed to the people

Irrfan said in his statement, “Fake news is being spread without any proof using my name, just to get views.

I appeal to everyone not to believe such news nor share them further. If any news does not come directly from me, please do not believe it.”

He further said, “I have never said anything wrong against any religion, certainly not against my own religion. I urge everyone to check the facts before believing or spreading such false claims.”

Cricket career has been wonderful for India

41-year-old Irfan Pathan played cricket for the Indian team for almost a decade. In his international career, he played 29 Tests, 120 ODIs and 24 T20I matches.

He is currently playing for India Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

It is noteworthy that this statement of Irfan Pathan is an important message against fake news spreading on social media. Spreading false statements in the name of any person not only harms his image but can also increase religious tension in the society. People should not believe or share any news without checking the facts.
