India batter Shubman Gill recorded the fastest double century during his side’s second One-Day International against West Indies at the ACA stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The Indian skipper got to the mark in 117 balls during India’s chase after the visitor posted 405 in the first innings.
He broke the record held by Ishan Kishan, who reached the milestone in just 126 balls against Bangladesh in December 2022. Gill is also only the second player after Rohit Sharma to record two double centuries, with Sharma having three to his name.
