Justin Greaves, who scored a century in the IND vs WI first ODI, has been ruled out of the second game due to a calf injury. He scored 101 off 108 balls, registering his maiden ODI ton in Thiruvananthapuram. He didn’t take the field in the second innings after picking up an injury while batting.

The visitors posted 295 in the series opener,  with John Campbell and Amir Jangoo amassing fifties. India reached the target of 296 in 41.4 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, with captain Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli scoring centuries. The two added 151 runs for the second wicket.

Kuldeep Yadav was named the Player of the Match for taking four wickets. He returned to the playing XI after warming the bench in the previous ODI series in England.

Naman Dhir, the all-rounder, made his debut for the sub-continent team at the Greenfield International Stadium in Kerala.

India have a chance to wrap up the series in the second ODI, which is scheduled to be played on September 30 in Guwahati. The third and final game will be played in New Chandigarh on October 3, followed by five T20Is, starting October 6.
