The retention exercise for the Women’s Premier League ahead of the mini auction next month saw a number of players released from the five participating franchises in the league. From established stars like Grace Harris, Alana King and Asha Sobhana to up and coming players like G. Kamalini and Shweta Sehrawat, a total of 26 players have been released back into the auction pool.

WPL 2027 will get underway on January 14 and end on February 7 and the auction for this season will be held in Kochi on October 28.

– Mumbai Indians Women: G. Kamalini, Milly Illingworth, Nalla Kranti Reddy, Poonam Khemnar, Saika Ishaque, Triveni Vashisht

– Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women: Grace Harris, Linsey Smith, Dayalan Hemalatha, Gautami Naik

– Delhi Capitals Women: Alana King, Lizelle Lee, Sneh Rana, Taniya Bhatia, Eddla Srujana, Pragati Singh

– UP Warriorz: Asha Sobhana, Deandra Dottin, Kiran Navgire, Shweta Sehrawat, Amy Jones, Chloe Tryon

– Gujarat Giants: Danni Wyatt Hodge, Ayushi Soni, Titas Sadhu, Shivani Singh

MI, UPW and DC released six players each while RCB and GG released four each, with a chunk of domestic talent finding itself in facing another auction exercise to find teams.
