Gill played an innings of 110 runs in 108 balls. In this innings he hit 13 fours and one six. Because of this powerful century, Gill has made a place in the list of greats like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

Gill has completed 3,000 runs in ODI cricket as an opener. He has become only the 8th Indian batsman to do so. As an opening batsman his average has been around 60. Gill may soon surpass India's current head coach Gautam Gambhir (3,367 runs) in terms of scoring the most runs as an opener.
