Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar received a prestigious Honorary Doctorate. He led the franchise to their second consecutive title in 2026.

He was honoured by the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel. The right-handed batter uploaded a picture of himself receiving the Doctorate. He wore traditional attire.

Bengaluru defeated the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the 19th season of the tournament. He amassed 501 runs in 14 innings at an average of 41.75 and a strike rate of 192.69, including five fifties.

He led RCB to their first IPL title in 2025 and became the third skipper in the history of the tournament after MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma to defend the title successfully.

RCB captain named in India A squad for Australia A ODIs

Rajat Patidar was last seen in action during the Duleep Trophy 2026. He will now return to the field for India A in the upcoming ODI series against Australia A.

Australia A are in India, and the visitors are currently competing against the host team in the two-match unofficial Test series. India A won the first contest by 162 runs. After the four-day games, the action will shift to three one-day internationals starting October 6. All games are scheduled in Puducherry.

Patidar has been a consistent performer in List A cricket. In 67 matches, he has accumulated 2278 runs at an average of 37.34, including four centuries and 13 fifties. The upcoming IND A vs AUS A series will be crucial for him as he is aiming to play for the national team in the future.
