Australia opening batter Travis Head returned to form, amassing his eighth ODI century. The feat came during the second match against Zimbabwe in Harare on Friday. The 32-year-old reached his century off just 75 balls when he took a single off Blessing Muzarabani on the final ball of the 25th over.

The southpaw’s hundred is the fastest by an Australian batter in ODI cricket against Zimbabwe.

The previous record was held by Matt Renshaw, who got to the mark in just 86 balls during the first ODI on Tuesday.

The record for the fastest century against Zimbabwe in the fifty-over format is held by Mark Boucher.

The former South African wicketkeeper-batter reached his century off just 68 balls during the 2006 ODI match in Potchefstroom.

Speaking about the ZIM vs AUS game, Sikandar Raza won the toss and chose to bowl first. That decision backfired as the visiting side notched up 356 for six wickets. The current ODI World Champions made two changes, with Josh Hazlewood and Billy Stanlake replacing Xavier Bartlett and Spencer Johnson.

Mitchell Marsh and Head batted with aggression and added 130 runs for the first wicket in 19 overs.

Marsh, who is leading the side in place of Pat Cummins, scored a brisk 53 off 63 balls.

Wellington Masakadza got the first wicket when he castled the Aussie skipper. Wesley Madhevere then got rid of Travis, who was caught by Ryan Burl, for 112 runs from 84 balls with 15 fours and three sixes.

Cooper Connolly, who scored 51 in the first game, managed to smash another fifty.

The left-handed batter scored 69-ball 78 and also stitched key partnerships with Josh Inglis and Alex Carey before perishing on the first ball of the 46th over. Olivier Peake gave the finishing touches, scoring 41 not out from 18 balls with two boundaries and three sixes.
