India captain Shreyas Iyer has won the toss and elected to bowl in the second T20I of the three-match series against Afghanistan in New Delhi. The game will start at 07:30 pm IST.

“We will bowl first. Tails have been lucky for me. You have a fair idea of the wicket and how it will help the batters in the second innings when you win the toss. But you have to play good cricket to win the match. It was a comprehensive win for us. We could have won by a huge margin, but (Mohammad) Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai had a good partnership. Kudos to them. We could have taken a few more wickets in the middle overs and avoided losing during our batting turn,” Shreyas Iyer said.

Afghanistan skipper Ibrahim Zadran would have bowled first had he won the toss. He is expecting to see a better performance from his batters.

“We wanted to bowl first, but we lost the toss again. We need to think about the batting department and how we can execute our plans. We want to play positive cricket. We didn’t have a good start in the previous match but recovered. We have to score heavily in the powerplay overs,” he said.
